Let's post rooster stories... I ended up with 7 out of 8 incubated chicks being roosters! I was in denial for about 13 weeks and then had to admit that most of my babies wouldn't be laying anything for the frying pan... I have since found homes for five and have kept two hoping that they'll get along... denial again? And of course, my most beautiful ones were not the friendliest, so off they went. Buck Buck and Prima (Grandpa Munster) just had to be kept.

Story - My gentle dog got pecked in the eye yesterday by Buck Buck. Wow! He lept up and gave that little rooster a good feather-flying bite. Buck Buck ran off squawking and yelling. Another bit - my chickens love to nestle down into my sheeps' wool - take a look at these pics! Ann and Jill

These last two were my prettiest roosters that had to go...

Halloween is Oct. 31 every year. We are all decorated around here. I don't like the scary looking stuff only the cutsie scary stuff so my little ones aren't scared of it.

Oh yeah, my rooster story. I'm just praying that he really is a rooster at this time. Stories to come hopefully.

tundrachick, I know what you mean and if you think halloween is bad about being commercialized, just wait for Christmas. I saw Christmas stuff in the stores in Aug. Way ridiculous.
