Rooster tried to fight my husband

So our rooster is about 10 months he’s very chill usually. Now our birds don’t like pets or to be touched. But my husband who does most of the feeding was out there and pet one of our RIR (he sneaks pets often) just a quick touch and our roo tried to get at him.
jumped up and scratched at him luckily he had pants but how can we teach him to have manners.First time he’s done that.

My Andalusian did the same around the same age, my cameras caught it, and I got a scar on my leg, he attacked me from behind... it was hilarious. I got mad, chase him, and gave him a little spank to show him who’s the boss, he only used to attack me, not my kids funny thing. At that age they feel like a T. rex so fierce lol. Now he’s 1 1/2 pretty calm and doesn’t attack anyone anymore. Just a little stage your boy grow out of it.

My EE cockerel is in that stage right now. You just have to show him that you're not going to take that behavior. You can pick him up and hold him under your arm. Or you can "peck" him, to show that you're the boss. What I found helps with my boy is if I just stand really tall and look down at him. Then he's too intimidated to try anything, lol.
