Hi all,
When you walk in your chicken pen and your rooster starts circling you, does that mean he's trying/threatening to attack you? Or is he just warning you not to get to close to the hens or something? Thanks in advance!

My roo started doing that and I thought nothing of it until one day he attacked me! I chased that jerk around the coop and he hasn’t done it since. My friend said he was sizing me up lol.

My roosters will follow me around the yard talking to,, me or the girls,, I dont know which,, but each one keeps his distance. I did have 1 flog me at feeding time, I put the feed away and sent them to roost hungry. He never tried that again, I wonder what the girls told him???

I agree, he's sizing you up, and working up the nerve to attack. How old is he?
Walk 'through' him every day; make him move out of your way at all times. He needs to respect your space, and be busy interacting with his flock, not you.
Look up beekissed's article about rooster management; she has very good advice.
Mary
