Rooster violently attacking?

It all started last week... I went to go spend some time with my chickens as I always do, I sit down and give them a pat but suddenly out of nowhere my silkie rooster just charges me, attacking me with his claws and beak... So I got up, shook my pride of and continued on. And ever since then hes been at least attacking me once every two days while feeding time. But this morning I went out to feed the chickens and he violently attacked me three times and once while I was leaving. His claws scratched my legs, making them bleed, next time I'm wearing boots, and when I sit down he aims for my face.
Any answers?

Everytime my roo tries that I pic him up hug & kiss him. Let's just say he hasn't jumped me in a while.

thats awesome! I kept telling the one I gave to my mom "one more time you make me bleed buddy and thats IT!" he didnt listen.
Glad to hear yours quit tho! I had a silkie roo that I didnt realize was a roo until he crowed (at like a year old!) he wasent very cute either.
I gave him to my friends who needed a rooster in their flock, apparently he gives all their freinds a chuckle just because of his looks!

Haha that's like us, they look at our roo, and say "What is that?" They all call it the blue waffle :/

My crazy rooster has been doing the same thing as of late-
He attacked my fiance when he went in there to get the eggs- and then he attacked my 3 year old son (bless his soul)-
he got a swift kick across the roost and hasnt attacked him since, but then just this morning i put my arm in there to feed them and he attacked my arm!!!!
He NEVER attacks me when i go in there bc Im the one who always slips them the treats--- never bite the hand that feeds! but that saying went right out the roost this morning!
So, i dont know whats been going on with him lately, he was never like that before- so if he keeps it up, I'll be finding comfort in a bowl of chicken soup

so he better knock it off! haha!

Did you change your routine/behavior around him at all. Roos are super observant and will definitely pick up on a change, even down to using a different container to carry the feed in maybe?

Our roo is certainly wiley, but not with my DH or I unless we do any of three very specific things:

1) I wear a specific pair of shoes; omg, he hates those shoes and will just wail on them if he sees them. I have no idea why. They're brown and non-descript and despite breaking his habit of attacking shoes, that pair still remains on his s*** list.

2) We distress any of the hens right in front of him. That's hard to do because they're used to being handled. But a twice I picked up a hen and flipped her upside down to inspect her feet (bumblefoot check), and she panicked and he cracked. So now we just scoop them up and walk into the garage before inspection.

3) Try and push him with your feet/legs. Bend over and push him with your hands, or pick him up and move him and he doesn't care, but try and foot/leg shove him and it's on. This and #1 are the remnants of his younger days in at the mercy of kids who apparently thought he was a football, I think.

Anything else we want to do around him is no problem. He doesn't care. It doesn't work for strangers, but he's cool with the two of us, so we're happy. So keep an eye on your guy and work out what the pattern is. He's locked onto something he doesn't like and if you can remove it from the equation, he should simmer down.
