My big boy, Art the rooster has a red spot on his "elbow" that won't go away. I have a feeling it might be bugs - but why the elbow only? I know he's had a problem with either lice or mites. I treat him often w/ diam. earth. He is my only bird that seems to be prone to the bugs always being there - if that is what it is.
I have a new silver wyandott that might be getting them now, as from reading other posts, I can see she has "feather pulling." Does the diamtramious (sp?)earth only work so much? I did not want to use anything much stronger, but it may be time? Is there a bath "dip" we could use? I tried bathing him w/ cat flea & ticket wash but it didn't seem to do much. Thanks everyone!
