Rooster was not happy about 3 new girls coming to the flock!!!

I turned 3 polish hens loose yesterday with the flock and everyone but my Barred Rock Rooster took to them. They all got along until the rooster came around and really just looked like he was showing who was boss. I'm hoping that he will calm down but for about 5 minutes yesterday it was crazy!! I had kept them in a cage in the coop along with the rest of the chickens with no problem and the rooster did'nt seem to mind while they were in the cage but as soon as they started to explore a little....Oh my!!!

He was probably just laying down the law, so the new ones know for absolute certainty that he's in charge.

Thats funny I had the opposite problem my roo was introduced and was beat up by all 15 hens until he finally beat them all and took over the flock.

just give it some time and things will work it's self out
