Pony Sunday-
A while back, I was lunging Auggie and I was petting him after I decided he had done enough. He grabbed the lunge whip out of my hand and held it in his mouth.
It was hilarious.

Ok Hooman, walkies! And trot-on! Come on pick up those hooves… er feet!

I will let @RebeccaBoyd elaborate, but i think it is a young rooster feeling his oats and trying to 'take charge' (the human, after all is iether the rooster - or treated like one by the other roosters. Note that Rebecca's boys will nap when she is there - or dust bath? She is taking on teh watch duties of a rooster and they can relax for a bit. But, not all do it, and most it is just their 'I'm growing up adn want to be the boss' stage - just liek human adolescents who suddenly become 'smart', then they grow up and return to normal intelligence:gigDepending ont eh child - a few never go through that stage, soem it is fleeting, some it lasts 8 years or so! (Humans, that is!)

@RebeccaBoyd please confirm or deny my thoughts - based on observations....but I can be wrong - a very large flock have quite different dynamics than a smaller one.....and I am not as close to all my chooks are some of you are, due to my working f/t, ad part time job & having so many.....
I think you are very much on the right track with your thoughts.

Not all have charged me from behind. George and Bubba most definitely did along with Twig. George was the only one who made contact. Branch shocked me when he developed a love affair with my hand seemingly out of nowhere.

My opinion what is going on in their little hormone pea-sized brain of theirs is simply that of the equivalent of a 13 year old teenage boy. He is just discovering girls and pushing boundaries to see how much he can get away with. Whether they see me as top rooster or momma all teenagers have to see what they can get away with.

You said mystery, without Queen Aurora dressed as Sherlock Holmes! :idunno 🤔
Did someone say mystery?

What is the charging thing all about? Telling the human to get away from his hens?
Probably! We never put up with an aggressive rooster. If they start trying to spur you, they usually won't quit. I've sadly had some of my older roos do that. 🙁

One thing that's fun about roos is they will tidbit for you, just like they do the hens.

No roo wants to die, just because he’s been hatched a roo. I try my best to cater to all my tribe. Mr. Wyandottey hates those new game roos. I find them exciting and beautiful. Especially Gizmo, a perfect example of a rooster lap chicken. Aside from Sir Jaffar of course. I can never forget my little buddy Sir Jaffar! :hit:love

I’m flying out to San Diego at first light. Okay I miss my sister. No chickens on this flight, she has no space to have them. But paul my wingman will be watching over the chooks all day. I loaded the fridge and the kitchen with his favorite foods! Always take care of the friends you love! (Tri-tip is expensive these days), but I bought that and charcoal for the bbq, just for him. do you know what a prohet is? Someone ordained by God to spread the word.? My two weakness is my chickens and beautiful women! I have a message to share with the world, but my heart is clouded with pain feeling from the past! Even my ladies from my church are hitting on me. Maybe it’s my imagination, but she wanted to share a spoon IMG_5244.png of dessert with me. I’m scared :th time to leave that church I imagine. If she was single it would be different, but she’s a friend and signals wave a big red flag!

Go snuggle a chicken - maybe it will peck some sense into you. It’s probably all in your imagination - and your Church ladies have been very good to you - I don’t think you should be leaving your Church over something that is probably just in your head.
And what’s wrong with sharing a spoon of dessert between friends?
Aren’t you flying somewhere today? Have a good trip.
Tax.

Happy Monday.
Tassels keeping an eye on me to make sure I don’t interfere with breakfast for the Littles.

Don’t worry. Chippy got plenty to eat. He needs it if he is to grow into a big, strong, flock-protecting rooster!!

Everyone else got breakfast too. Even Calypso who usually is not allowed so near the Littles.

Then the Littles took over.

Shrimp update.

I know I should have posted this yesterday, but I did not see her. My Ghostie girl has dropped her eggs and back out in the open tank. I have everything crossed that a few survive and in about 2 weeks time I can search and spot tiny shrimpies.
