rooster with a baaaad cut

Hey guys my best friends flock was attacked by dogs today. The rooster just showed back up with a huge wound. I know to clean and flush with peroxide and keep him away from the flock. Any other advice

Keep him warm and keep him away from the rest of the flock til the wound is healed. Perhaps you can keep him in a spare bathroom or the laundry room for a while. Remember to encourage fluids first to try to prevent dehydration. You can drip water along the side of his beak and hopefully he will pull a little ito his mouth.

Besides the advice you've been given by the other members, antibiotics might be a good thing, to prevent infection from setting in. Just in case some bacteria or germs went deep into the wound. Poor thing, hope it survives. You've been given some good advice though, so hopefully all will go well. Best of luck to your friend and her roo.
