Rooster with a pale pink splotch or half circle on his leg

He's not showing any symptoms of a problem, aside from this pale pink blotch on one of his legs. It's almost like a half circle and maybe a quarter to half an inch in width. I don't see any cuts, and he's had it for a few weeks. I honestly thought it was a shadow of red clay from our dirt here. But it's still there.

Can chickens get ringworm?

I'm not seeing lice on him or anything else that would explain this. I'm having camera problems, so for now I can't provide a photo. I'll see if I can fix it and post a photo later.

I wanted to follow up on this discussion. I posted this before my rooster was attacked by a coyote. The pink splotches I saw on his leg before the attack were very faint, but they were not the same redness that occurs when chickens are sexually maturing. Those are quite different.

The splotches were present during his recovery and became very inflamed and a serious concern. There are several reasons that could explain this, but I find it interesting that it first developed in the same area as the pink splotch.

Any thoughts on what that could have been?
