We have a 1 year old Blue Andalusian rooster who got some frostbite on his toes we have brought him in and he is doing a lot better (been in for a 2 weeks now, eating and drinking well walking a little bit) we plan to just keep him inside until were past freezing temps he just doesn't seem to handle them well. Anyways when we brought him out yesterday we noticed he has swelling on his shank, the frostbite didn't go past his toes and I don't see any new injury just the swelling it seems painful for him to walk on. Our vet had us put him on mild antibiotics when we first brought him in with the frostbite (his comb and waters were very white and he wasn't eating and sneezing a lot so she thought it might be upper respiratory as well). We are done with the antibiotics and the swelling didn't happen till after that was done. Anyways any suggestions? The swelling is warm to the touch and he pulls away if we touch it. Its pink at the base of the swelling all around the back of his shank. Sorry its not the best picture he did not want to hold still. It doesn't look like scaly leg mites and there is no injury visible so I don't think bumble foot. The picture is outside because its been warm during the day so we are taking him outside to get a little more exercise and sunshine. He wont walk much his feet still seem sore and his leg seems to hurt a bit. He will walk some but mostly sits
