Hey everyone,
This is my first time on the forum. And I have a couple of questions.
I have a New Hampshire rooster I rescued that lives with my mare. Since I've had him, over a year now, he's had diarrhea, constipation, plugged up vent from the dried diarrhea, and now there are maggots that come out when he is able to defecate. My regular vet wasn't any help, they don't work on farm animals. I gave him a good bath last Sunday with Dawn, and didn't find any obvious sores except a little on the outside of his vent. He seems to eat well and drinks when I'm there. he's on a regular scratch feed, I was putting apple cider vinegar in his water for a long time, but didn't see any difference. I put Rooster electrolytes in his water now, still no difference. I picked up some special food the other day that is more like wild bird seed mix and give him veggie scraps from home. I'm not sure what else to do with him. Maybe someone has some ideas??
