rooster ?

I'm new to the board and the hole chicken thing. My wife and I went to the auction and bought sum young chickens. One happened to be a young rooster in with sum smaller ones. He was good with the ones he was in the cage with but as soon as we put him in our coop with the rest of out young chickens he started attacking a few of them. He is the only rooster in our coop and the we have 13 chickens and two layin hens in the coop. What should I do with the rooster keep him in the coop or seperate him. And when should I put them together for breeding?

bring them apart until their the hens are older so they can handle being mated and they will be big enough to fight back

I think you will have to separate him from everyone for awhile so that when he gets back together w/the group, he feels like the outsider & this might cool his jets a little bit. there's a reason for the phrase "feeling cocky". these roosters have got it bad.
