How old are your silkies? Even breeders usually can't sex their birds before 4-5 mos. of age. You may want to subscribe to the "Silkie thread," to learn more about this very popular breed and see how other silkies look at various ages. Your birds appear to be non-bearded, that should make it easier to see their faces. When silkies have big crests AND beards it obscures their vision and people mistakenly think they are dumb.
