Roosters and Hens

Hi people,
I recently obtained a rooster from a friend, the only issue is when we got him home he is about 3x the size of our current Hens (Leg Horn Bantams).
The rooster is 1/4 Silkie, 1/4 Generic Bantam, 1/2 Silver-laced Wyandotte.
Is there any possible issues if I let the rooster into the pen with the Hens? Will he hurt them because of his size?

Too large of roosters can hurt hens. In the least it can be uncomfortable.

I do have some scrawny breeds like polish that get bred by my big buff Orpington roosters. They do okay.

I suggest you watch and see how it goes. If he's polite, and gentle it may be okay. If he's too rough and ends up pulling out feathers and squashing your poor hens you may want to rethink keeping him.

With any new bird, you need to watch introductions and see how things work out. It's likely going to be fine, but if not, be prepared to have another plan.
