I have a question about roosters eating layer ration. I have 3 hens and one rooster. I also have no way to separate them. Is there any way to keep the rooster from eating layer's food, and if not, what is the consequence of it?

My roo eats layer feed right along with the hens. The calcium will build up in his body after a long long time, but I don't think most folks worry about.
The layer feed I use has only something like 3 or 4 % calcium added. I offer oyster shell on the side to the girls and my roo never touches it.

I have never had a problem with my roosters eating the layer pellets. It does not seem to do anything harmful to them. Atleast from what I have noticed.
