I have 2 roosters that are about 18 weeks old. They don't mess with me, they actually seem scared of me but they always attack my 5 year old.
Anyone else go through this ? Might have to get rid of these roo's if this don't stop.

Thanks for looking

I would never advise letting a small child around roosters...often they see them as threats...so please if you want your child to interact with chickens put the rooster up some where so he cant get to the child.

I agree! I will just try to keep the roosters in the coop if I let them out .

Makes me mad because she picked the rooster out as a chick to be hers :(

yes that is the best thing to do...I can understand..I am sure she is heartbroken because he attacked her...but hopefully as she gets bigger he will begin to respect her...I have never been flogged (attacked) but I am with my chickens for a big part of the day and they see me as part of the flock....you always have to stay at the top of the "pecking order" or you will get flogged if ever the rooster does the rooster "dance" around you or your child he needs to swiftly BUT gently smacked on the top of the head as that is one sign of him trying to dominate you.
