Rooster's back toes are swollen and toenails are gone?

I noticed about a week ago that his toes looked swollen, I finally caught him today and soaked his feet. Both toenails are gone and the ends of his toes are very fat looking. Toes are soft and warm, red patches on his toes and feet. Red line running up the outside of each leg?
One toe had a black scab on the end, I removed it, but it doesn't seem like bumblefoot. It bled a lot and I can't find a kernel or pus inside. He's not limping at all and acts normal. Did you ever find out what the issue was? And how did your rooster heal? I have the same issue, just on one foot. He wasn't limping, no dark spots, no other swelling... just his back toe. I cleaned it, put antibiotic gel on, and wrapped it. I did this 4 times over a week and no change.
