Rooster's comb bleeding all over the place-

No its certainly frostbite.
I'm the original poster, and for some reason i didn't get notified to my email that there were responses.
My roosters's comb is 3-4 times the size of the photo above. His wattles must get dunked in the water dish, as someone mentioned. (my nipple waterer is a problem in the winter- the water stays warm, but the nipples freeze because they are vertical. I need to make a horizontal one, just haven't gotten around to it. There is also warm water in the goat waterer, so if he was smart he could just drink out of that.
I will take some pics so you all can see. Not too sure I want to catch him- our roost is at 6 feet, so Id need a stool, and be fumbling in the dark cold barn at night taking bad blurry pics by myself. Probably not gonna happen....
Photos to come later today I hope.

This is his comb. the bleeding has stopped. I think quite a bit of his wattle has fallen right toff. The whole front half of both sides.
I remember this happened to our last rooster (but not with wattles, his were small but his comb was big and the black fell off in early summer).

I had frostbite on my Roo. Please do not put ointment on it. It’s like burnt tissue and ointment will only trap bacteria and won’t let it breathe.
The blood could pose your biggest problem due to the he fact that others will peck it. If it’s a slow or minimal amount let it scab. Perhaps crate or seclude him until it stops. Applying quick stop or cornstarch w/pressure can stop small bleeds. Be careful the tissue is fragile and sometimes you can do more harm messing with it. Best wishes

like I said, Im not touching him, so no plan on putting ointment!
Thank you for the photos.
Glad the bleeding has stopped. The dead tissue will eventually fall off.
The comb may get worse as winter progresses. The points will probably round and fall off too.
As long as there is no major swelling or indication of infection I would leave him be. IF the hens are picking at him and making him bleed, then separate him for a couple of days to let that heal over.

Good Luck.
