Rooster's comb darkening

You can barely see it in this pic, but my rooster and hens are darkening a little. They are all 24 weeks and thier combs and waddles are still growing and brightening. I have noticed a some darker places. They still seem plump. They aren't dry. All of my chickens are barnyard mix. Do some mixes have black in their combs?

Your roosters comb looks perfectly normal to me.

If they are active, eating well, moving well, then I pretty much don't worry about them. That roo looks good to me too.

When my mother's German shepherd fatally bit a hen of mine in the torso, her comb visibly turned darker and darker purple/charcoal before she died in about two minutes. Probably unrelated, just thought I would throw it out there.
