Yesterday, I noticed my rooster's crow was bleeding. He mustve caught it on something and tugged hard because half of it is hanging off and bleeding. We bandaged the torn part and today we took it off. The part hanging off is turning black and isn't connected to his head anymore, just connected to part of the crown. Is something wrong or is it just healing? Do we have to cut the part off thats black? Will he be permanently scarred? He is a young rooster, around 8 months old, more or less.

Personally I would remove the part that is detached it sounds like that part is dead. you don't want him to get gangrene. Maybe look up some videos on how to do Dubbing (removing a roosters comb)

Can you post a picture? The dying part will likely drop off, but you could also trim off the hanging part. I would also recommend Googling how to dock a rooster comb for info. You may need some blood stop powder or flour to use to stop bleeding.
