Hi This may seem a silly question, but anyway. When do roosters start crowing? I have 4-8 wk old roosters that haven't even attempted to crow.. I have a question about sand as well. Do you use it in just there run or can you use it in their coop as well? Thanks for any help!!

Depends. Not exactly the best answer...sorry. Our started as early as 9 weeks and the latest one was ~5 months old. I've heard that there has been the occasion 2 week that has tried. By 12 weeks though, I'd say most of our were little noise makers.

It really does vary. I have 6 cockerels who are 3 months old and have yet to crow. . . Then I have about 19 cockerels verging on 2 months old who also have yet to crow. . .

But some people have them crow from 2 months to 6 months. Mine usually start around the 4 month range, but I think it just varies on breed and surroundings.

Thanks, I was wondering, now I am relieved! Thought maybe my roosters weren't roosters.
