Roosters food

Hi, what should roosters eat? Originally I was planning to set up a bachelor pad for my 3 roosters but the situation changed and now they will be living with hens. I have read that the extra calcium in layers pellets is bad for them so what should they eat if living with the hens ?

I've always fed my roos layers pellets. However I am now about to switch to growers for the entire flock, and then feed the hens eggshells back to them, because apparently it's just better for the boys.

I would give flock raiser to them all with eggshells on the side. The extra calcium is very bad for roosters, so they shouldn’t be forced to eat it.

I use either eggshells or oyster shells. I live in Maryland, pretty close to the bay, so oyster shells are a dime a trillion for me.
