thanks that helps alotI have coturnix in a suburban 1/3 acre lot. Their cage is against the back fence I share with a neighbor behind me. Nobody even knows they are there. There are 3 cocks and 11 hens currently out there. The cocks do crow, but nothing like chickens. Its higher pitched and shorter. Their noise blends right in with the wild birds' noises to the untrained ear. Also, keep in mind that you only need top keep a few clicks around for a breeding program. Too many and the aggression will lead to fights, stress and overly mated hens that we'll then refuse to lay. 1 cock to every 3-5 hens is ideal IMO.
