Rooster's making an odd sound

My rooster kept making a shrill, shrieking noise when I was sitting with them in the run. Does that mean anything?

My roosters make a sort of shrill, but low-volume noise when alerting to predators. Was something big flying overhead or maybe a cat or dog hanging around?

sorry for the late response, and I'm not sure if there was anything, but squirrels do climb on my fence a lot so I think you might be right.
