Roosters & Mating

At what age do rooster usually start mating. We have two roosters and 4 hens. 2 hens are a yr old and the other 2 hens are 5 months old. The Roosters are also 5 months old. I was curious at about what age this starts.

My roo was ready about 5 mos but the girls were not. He was hatched 7/20/09 they didn't start breeding until 6 mos or so and the older chicks were 7mos.

They didn't start laying until after he started breeding with them. I don't think it was coincidence, I think they were of age and ready to lay eggs and he recognized it!
