Hey guys I need help again. I have 4 lavender orpingtons. I think they are around 10 months. I swore I was getting at least 2 eggs from them but I think I was wrong. One of our ameraucanas this summer sat on eggs to hatch that all weren’t hers and one of the babies hatched was a little grey what looked to be a lavender Orpington chick. I have read that the gene is recessive so you have to 2 lavenders to get a lavender baby.. don’t know if that is true or not. My question is are these all roosters? I can try to get better pics but I was trying to get them all in the same picture.

All the lavender Orpingtons are cockerels.

All Roos.
If I remember correctly, lavender works similarly to how the blue color works.
Lavender is recessive, blue is Semi dominant.

Lavender needs two copies to show, while blue only needs 1, half of the offspring will be blue, while others are black.

Ughhhhh I love these guys the friendliest chickens I’ve had by far but I can’t have all these roosters. Thank you everyone! This was the baby hatched by the ameraucana this summer unfortunately I found it dead a week or so later.
