How old is your rooster and how many hens do you have:? How much space do they have?

Giving them room really helps, especially if you do not have enough hens. Is he just randomly pulling feathers out, or is he mating?

I have the same issue, but I went ahead and separated my one roo from the flock. I've not tried aprons, so I might do that!
