Roosters vs hawks?

I have a sebright bantam rooster we call Stalker. If he see's a hawk or a crow on the ground, he takes off for it and then jumps on it like a net of fury! I saw him doing it one day and I thought for sure he was going to be a goner. No way! He was throwing feet like he was the legendary chicken ninja himself. Raven ducked a kick above his head and got two to the side. He didn't know what hit him. After that, we haven't had any more attacks yet.

My avator picture is a tiny silver duckwing Old English Bantam rooster named The Mousekateer because of his small size. Last summer I walked out the door to chicken shrieks and my large fowl rooster shepherding the girls to under the large lilac bush. A hawk came swooping in low between my two chicken coops (The main one and my grow out coop) and the small gladiator raised himself into the air at the hawk who took off .
