we have 5 roosters in our flock with 14 other chickens, and we are building a rooster coop, but what should we do before it's finished? they only fight a little, but when they do they draw blood.

Fighting chickens is illegal in the USA :D. You need to thin it down about 2-3 roosters. I have several roosters and over 100 chickens. They will naturally get their pecking order together, but if they are fighting til blood draw, it's time to sell, butcher, or make separate pens.

Yes, I know. It's just their nature. You will either have to keep them seperated or thin down the flock. If you build them separate living quarters, make sure they don't share a common fence. They will fight thru the fence.

A lot of times if roosters are raised together from a young age, they get along fine. But your rooster/hen ratio needs to be 7-10 hens per rooster. So maybe the answer is to get more chickens:D
