Hi and welcome to BYC :frow I've had good and bad roos... Some of my Del's were good at protecting the girls, in fact one gave up his life in defense of the flock. Others are just brats. I've had the same luck with my IL roos. Some really really good, others not so much. My silver spangled hamburg was just interesting--but his arrogance ended his life. He was the smallest of my roos--yet he was willing to take on anything that threatened the flock. And he would intercede if a roo attacked DW. He helped put everyone into their shelters at night--but refused to go in himself. He liked to perch about 35 feet above the pasture.
