Hi all. Wonderful weather were having eh?
So I am raising twenty one baby chicks, and it hit me today that a lot of them may be roosters. I know that roosters like to fight sometimes. So how many roosters can you have at max? I dont want to give up my babys!

Unfortunately my neighbors don’t like them as much as I do.

we did have three at one time though. they were all very good buddys.
they did fight sometimes, but only for the dominance line. they live happy together for almost three years, sadly one died of a leg problem we dident see.

we still have the other two. there good with each other.

Do have understanding neighbors??????

Depending on the breed and the housing rosters raised together don't necessarily fight. I have Orpington and Cochin who are pretty mild mannered and were raised together. They don't fight. However we had 5 roosters and 8 hens together and we learned that the hens did no need all that male attention. They were over mated and were loosing feathers on their back and neck. We built a bachelor rooster coop, and they have been doing fine together for 2 years.

I raised several roosters together, and most of them got along fine.
However, I had a few that liked picking fights.
I did get rid of the troubled ones, and now all is well.

I guess you should just wait and see how they get along,
and maybe pick out the bad ones, if there are any, for rehoming.

Good luck

Oh, and I forgot... if an option, you could pen up some roosters separate.
Maybe if one is a bully, yet a favorite, fix him something alone with a couple hens.

I'm doing this with my new Silkes - one rooster and two hens.
