Roosters??????????

When will the roosters start making noices. i have baby chicks we think one is a rooster and we are going to keep him until he's loud. in my area we aren't aloud to keep roosters. he is the cutest thing alive we hope he's not a rooster.

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION??????

I have heard of some 2 week old cockerels crowing.. or no crowing until they are months old! Good luck! Why don't you host a photo on a photo sharing site (ie. photobucket) and see if we agree with your diagnosis!

My new chicks started crowing just before two months. However, that said my favorite roo refused to crow until he was about 6+ months old, by then we knew he was a roo. It just depends on their personality.

I've had 3 week olds crow and then some roos haven't crowed and they were 4 mos old... go figure!

my chicks lay on their side sometimes when they sleep is that okay???
