is it possible to have 4 roos and 12 hens? i have 1 deleware and rgetting 1 welsumer and 2 d`uncles?

I believe the ratio is 8-10 hens for every Roo. You might need to keep them separated to avoid fights and to have mercy on the hens!

I have 2 roosters on 5 hens and I would say the answer is space. It is nice really. When one needs to go back to the coop to lay her egg one rooster goes and waits for her. Then brings her back to the group. Granted it seems like there is always a rooster on a hen.

We never have rooster fights or at least not where we can see. One rules and the other one knows it.
