Hello! I have a rooster question.......about how many can stay in a pen together, if at all, and not have fighting problems? Over crowding isn't a problem, pen is big enough, they are mixed breed, but have same dad :D

Thanks!

It would depend on the roosters themselves....I have 9 roosters together and there's never been a fight, some feather fluffing once in a while but no actual fights, these roos were all raised together from hatch however, if I was to throw an oddball in there or a hen chances are there would be some fighting.

I had a pen of over a dozen roosters a couple of years ago. No problems. I know some will say that you need to keep hens out of sight, but my hens free ranged all around that pen and there were no problems at all.

I've had roosters together in a bachelor pad with no problems. Two groups, pretty much the same age and put together around 4 months old. Minimal squabbling, no blood. Hens were easily seen and heard from bachelor pad. Roosters lived there until about 8-9 months old then were butchered.

Thanks to all for your help! Right now I only have 7 so there shouldn't be a problem.
