Roosting boxes

I’ve got a very crude set up for roosting boxes. I took a sheet of plywood. Cut 12” squares. Screwed them toghther on 4 sides. 5 boxes, 14 hens. They all use just 3 of the boxes. I put pine shavings in each box from the coop floor. They all kicked the pine shavings out so it’s just bare plywood.

If thats how they want it who am I to judge. I put pine shavings back in there 3x and they kicked it out to bare plywood. Didn’t bother a 4th time.

Every now and then I’ll find a broken egg. With just a tiny hole right on the tip though. It’s strange.
