roosting issues

Our one guinea was frigtened out of the tree and now roosts on our back porch furniture. Have tried, unsuccessfully, to scare him off, used water also, to no avail.. You can imagine the damage to our floor, not to mention the furniture. We had planned to give him away but he thinks he is a dog and wouldn't survive anywhere else.

Can someone help us with roosting training???

how about someplace special of his own. move him in every evening and out in the morning. Ours are very consistant once they learn where they are supposed to go. build a small coop, Keep him penned for about 6 weeks (learned this from peepsca and it works for us) then they seem to be happy to go back there every evening.

we have 27 free range thet coop up with the chickens for the night, and a separate pen of 14. they can free range during the day, but at night they go to their own coops and are locked in at night.

I would really try to find a single guinea a home with other guineas first. They're extremely "large flock" oriented, and a single guinea is a stressed guinea.

That said, I like RobertH's idea of a special roosting spot in a pen or coop. It's gotta be murder on your porch and furniture.
