Roosting (Not perching)

Maybe I used the incorrect wording. Do all adult turkeys roost? I have a Blue Slate, is he too heavy a breed to fly up to the roost? I posted under Perch sorry. Not sure if I need to help him with a bale of hay or lower the perch. Never owned a turkey before.

Most of the heritage turkeys I've seen around here all roost. How high up is your roost?

My bigger variety domestics can't possible fly up to roost, if its more than 4 feet. My big white roots on top of some cages 3" up, and nightly I lift him up to the 6" perch above the ducks, so nothing can reach him. My moms "wild" variety turkeys fly up about 25 feet and roost on limbs up in a black walnut tree, like the peacocks.
