Roosting on top of nest boxes?

Ok. My chickens seem to like sitting on top of their nesting boxes. Ok, that's putting it mild - judging from the amount of poop they spend all their coop time up there. Is this a problem? Besides being difficult to clean? They do have two roosts to choose from - and it's just the two of them - so it's not a space thing. Thx

Not easily. We didn't build it - and first time chicken owner I didn't realize how bad the design was! it's an a frame. The only openings are the POp door and nesting box door. I try to pitch straw back there when I'm cleaning it - but the chickens push it back. I'm afraid of just propping something up in case it falls on them.
