Roosting pole question

I have just put my chicks, 6 weeks old approximately, in the new coop. I have a roost rod in the run area. Its towards the top of the run. They ignore all day but at dusk they all were on it instead of going inside the hen house. Should I remove it. I have 2 roost poles in house. I want them to learn to go inside on thier own and I dont want them confused.

watching this thread, i have a roost pole in the coop, it's kind of hi in the coop but they don't get on it? wondered if it wasn't ventilated enough up there they seem to hang out at the door at night? these are 18 week old hens.

Mines up high too. Probably almost 5' if I was guessing. They ignore it all day but seem to be interested in it when they should be hesding in for the night. Lets just see what the members say....
