Roosting Poles??

I was wondering if anyone puts roosting poles in their brooders. I made 2 of them out of 2x4's and a 1/2" pole across. At what age should I place them or one in the brooder?

IMO you can put them in at any time. They will use them when they want to.

I've had some in the brooder since day one, just narrow and only an inch or so off the ground, and just today I found some thicker ones, about 2" thick, (fallen sticks and branches) and put them in a little higher and their loveing them! There two weeks old now, and are the cutes loveliest girls ever!! Enjoy you peeps!

I'm a total newbie, so what do I know? LOL, but my chicks are just shy of two weeks old and I jammed a stick from the yard in their brooder last week and they've been perching on it for days now. I often go in there and all three of them are snuggled up together on the stick. It's about 3 inches off the shavings and it's just jammed in against the tupperware sides.
