Hi, I'm designing my run and i would love to see pictures of what your run setups are like, im looking for roosts and how you secured them also just toys that you found your chickens to love, thanks!

I just trimmed the limbs off of an old pine tree and used eye bolts and some rope to hang it. They seem to like it and I like the natural look of it. Good luck

This picture shows our first roost - an oak branch that fell during an ice storm. It runs the entire width - 10ft. Now we have another branch that goes from one side and is screwed into the tree. They are both heavily used.

Nice run! My girls like cherry tomatoes tossed whole. They chase 'em as they roll! They also like treats stuffed into a large suet feeder & hung in their run. But their favorite "toy" is crickets hopping across their space... unfortunately, these don't make for a long-lasting toy!

Anne- I love that tree in your run! And great roosts too!
We just have a ladder style roost that DH and I built out of some wood we had around here. We'll need a bigger one soon, I think- but they like it!

You can kinda see mine through the wire. We used limbs from a tree we cut down. Everything is screwed together and them screwed to the posts of the coop!!

I just used some tree branches from a tree we were removing. I put up two little pieces of 2x4 to screw it in to. The 2x4s are also screwed in to the frame that runs around the bottom of the run and the hardware cloth is screwed in with screws and washers to the outside of the 2x4 pieces to help hold them steady.

Since I took this picture I have put another branch above the one you see here. It rests across the corner and is screwed in on both sides to the 2x4s that run around the middle of the run. (up where you see the flapping chicken at the top of the picture...LOL)

Yep, I have branches for my gremlins too. I have a small city sized lot so everything is small, even the birdies.

I made this out of 3 pieces of a tree that was cut down, used gorilla glue and some metal straps to hold it all together, they love it. [took this before I put it in the run.]
