Roosts stink

Maybe instead of branches, try 2x4's for the roosts.
I sprinkle the 2x4s while sitting through the PDZ in the morning...keeps the poo from sticking to the roosts and absorbs the moisture. I can see where this editor be difficult with natural branches. It's out possible to split them so there is a flat side?

Luckily I don't have an issue with poopy roosts. I do have poop pits under the roosts. I have wire over the pits so the birds can't get to it. I clean out the pits and the poop goes into a compost pile. I have a lot of birds. Currently I probably have around 400 birds with the young ones I hatched out. I recently sold a lot of the extra males. I kept a few as future breeders.

Hose them down. I wash mine with dawn & dry in the sun periodically. The sun removes odors naturally too. They'll be without a roost for a few hours. Or simply take a walk in the woods & get new branches, but seriously sunshine works wonders.
