roosts?

A nesting box is where they lay the eggs. The roost is a pole that they sleep on.

nest box is an actual box where hens lay their eggs. A roost is like a perch where all the chickens will get to sleep like a limb or a pole for them to fly onto at night.

ohh, thanks that makes much more sence know, i couldent figure it out. how high should it be off the ground though

another question would it be okay to have extra space in the coop and run? for more hens in the future

thank you:), i probably seem stupid but how old are they usually when they start laying eggs?

It's okay we all asked these same questions once

It really depends on the breed and health of the stock, but usually average of around 6 months of age.

if i could get a few about that age all at the same time would they fight each other or would they start laying eggs, and i heard that it is about a 90% chance that eggs will be roosters, not hens, is that true?
