Not sure if this is the right forum, but today I was looking around some farm shops, saw a “rose tree”. My grandma said it’s the same as a rose bush. Is it? I don’t think roses are poisonous to poultry, but I’d like to double check that. It will be going in my Quail pen.
The holly tree. My Quails’ pen will be at the end of our garden, it’ll be covered in bird netting to stop any wandering birds and leaves, but the neighbour has a holly tree on the other side of the fence, it does over hang on the Quails’ area. Will this be an issue?

I don't know about roses, but holly is definitely poisonous. Its poisonous to everything. That said, I've never seen evidence of a wild animal eating holly. The leaves are hard and pointy and probably don't taste very good.

Okay thank you, the leaves should not be able to get through the mesh so I hope they’ll be okay.

I free range chickens all the time, and there are roses and hollies everywhere around here. I have never had a chicken eat anything that poisoned it. Apparently, they are smarter than we think.:frow
