An unusual (at least here in Australia)(and pretty in my opinion) feather color has spontaneously appeared in my flock. I call it "rose" because I don't know what else to call it. I'm tempted to try and create a pure breeding line from it, though I know that I could be on a fool's errand. Is anyone working on a similar project, or even know if the color has a recognized name or can anyone tell me anything about the possible underlying genetics? Thanks in advance. Stuart.

Very interesting! What varieties do you have? I'd agree that it looks like salmon, which is wheaten based, but the only very common wheaten based color would be buff-though I don't know what you have in Australia.
