if you can view this video can someone tell me what this roster is doing? This is the same thing our rooster does around our 18 week old pullets. Is it aggressive or is he trying to seduce them or are they just being goofy. I assumed he was starting a fight as he is fully mature and they are not...

They say that's the mating dance, but more often than not my Roos will just do that to keep the hens from running off on their own. Physically, it is a "corralling" move, always done in front of the hen to cut her off. When they want to mate they could corral the hen first, or if they want to tell her to turn around and get with the rest of the flock they could do it too. Maybe there is more to it than that, I dunno, but it is part of what makes roosters so entertaining.

When it comes to mating my current roo prefers the sneak attack! :D

Too funny. Mr. Hugh Giggles (our roo) was a gift from a farmer friend when we moved our girls to their coop. He was full grown at that point and being new to raising chickens I took his advice that he wouldn't be mean to them... not the case. Since they're a little older we tried letting them together again and he started dancing like that. Glad he's just being a flirt and not a bad boy.
