I have a 4 yr old Bantum Rooster. About 4 weeks ago we noticed he was not walking. He would take 3 steps then sit down. He his eating and drinking. I have tried salt baths, he has been wormed and given Nitri-Drench, supertonic, banixx and rooster booster spray on his legs. Nothing seems to be working. Please help if you can. Also took him to the vet who prescribed pain meds.

She did not know what was wrong. She said she had a chicken like that and ended up putting it down and got another one🙄I’m trying to save him

Can you start some human vitamin B complex 1/2 tablet crushed daily with a little egg or food? It has riboflavin which can help if he has a deficiency. Some chick vitamins have it, although some don’t. Could he have been injured jumping or by a rooster? Does he have any swelling, wounds, or green bruising on his legs or feet? Here is B complex:

We have been giving him a supplement with B12 in it. He doesn’t have any signs of injury or green bruising. Its possible our other Rooster could have attacked him but no physical signs of that.

This is what we have been giving him

That may not have enough riboflavin (B2.) That one has 1 mg in 60ml, while the B complex has 20 mg per tablet. B12 is not as important in leg health as B2.

Ok, I will get that but can I dilute and give it in a syringe? Not sure he will eat it in the food. He’s not eating a lot.

Yes, the simplest way is to crush a tablet between 2 spoons, and give 1/4 to 1/2 tablet in a spoonful of water daily. It is water soluble fortunately. Scrambled egg can also hide it. The brand in post 4 that I linked is one of the most inexpensive.

How often should I give it?
