So i recently adopted 2 female ducks from an over male populated pond. My question is what are some characteristics of a rouen vs. a mallard or mallard mix? I do realize a pic would be the most helpful but i cant get one right now. So in the mean time i was hoping all you folks could educate me with pics, or info on any of these ducks or their characteristics. They are good size females, bigger than mallards, but colored like mallard hens, they have white wing tips, and a white ring around their neck, one hen also has a white patch on her belly.

Mallards fly being less weight than Rouens. The Roens will not fly but may flap and glide short distances. I have 3 drake Rouen that are tame but do no like to be picked up, and are somewhat aggressive to my little dogs, mini-dashounds, pomeranian, and hound puppy, but nothing serious. They need water like any duck to keep themselves clean and problem free. This is accomplished by having a pond or kiddie pool kept 3/4 full of reasonably clean water. They will forage quite a bit and will do just fine on regular chicken feed.
