rouen duck gender help?

Sounds like u got some pretty close ducks, I'm jealous. Lol. Sounds like there just a tad bit too young yet to really determine there sex. One more thing to look for is the famous head bop that drakes do when around females.
yeah, I've been babying them quite a bit since we got them as pets. btw, we had a different mallard drake stop by today while they were out and it tried to boss my two ducks around. the bottom one backed off a bit, but the top one kind of confronted him and got pecked for it, but mine pecked right back and drove him off. I'm kind of surprised it was the top one, as they're usually a bit more timid and goes with the flow a little more while the other one is the one who always wants their own way and usually acts a little more bossy.

Baby Duck (the top one) did a clear quack today when my pomeranian startled them (they still haven't realized that dog is no threat at all). Big Duck (the bottom one) still mostly makes little grunts.

I have a Rouen and he's beautifully colored, his head is purple and blue , depending on the light,I'm new to ducks only had them a few months.my friend sold me her hens and surprise her widowed duck as well...she's a kahki (think I'm spelling right ) but she is shades of plain but beautiful Browns ...like your first one there ,so I'm going to say hen....? Lol with a question mark at the end of course for amateurity :) good luck.

these are their usual "just chatting" voices right now. the louder one that's closer to a quack is Baby Duck, the softer, more grunty one is Big Duck.

and they're both hens. yesterday they got startled by some fledgling crows making a racket begging for food and both started quacking at the top of their lungs. time to look into getting them a boyfriend.

Rouen ducks are easy to identify.
Who is quaking? Who is rasping?
Is there a green shine to one's head? This helped me identify my beautiful drake, Red.
Males will have an olive bill. Females will have a pinto or spotted beak that is orange.
Like so:

That will help you find a drake for them. Good luck! :D

I know this is an old thread but I just saw this and joined. Did these turn out to be boys or girls? I have one that has a greenish tint on its head like your pictures and I'm hoping it can still be a girl. It's around 5 weeks old. Thanks!

they turned out to both be girls. when they got their full adult feathers the top of the head turned brown without any glossy green to it.
