Looks like some calcium deposits on the egg shell. Sometimes, hens deposit too much calcium on the egg shell, or something else happens that causes them to do it. Its nothing to worry about; a lot of my chickens naturally have calcium deposits on their egg shells reguarly.

Is she a new layer? I had one like that when my pullets started laying a few months back.

No.. she is a little over a year old, a Barred Rock. This just started about a month ago. Up until then her eggs were fine. Now every egg she lays is like this.

X3 on the calcium or calcified material, with an older bird who is laying these consistently, the reasons they give that seem like they would match her are strain (breeding/bloodlines) or a defective shell gland.
